Gender diversity plays a crucial role in fostering inclusive healthcare environments within ambulance services. This presentation examines the changes in the Australasian ambulance service workforce over the period from 2018 to 2022, utilizing data sourced from the CAA Annual Workforce and Gender data collection. The study provides an in-depth analysis of workforce demographics and gender distribution across various parameters, including overall workforce composition, age groups, employment types, diverse employment categories, and attrition rates. The data collection process incorporates three gender categories, namely female, male, and other. As of 2022, the workforce composition was characterized by 52.5% females, 47.4% males, and 0.2% belonging to the other gender category. These findings emphasize the importance of promoting gender diversity to achieve a more inclusive and equitable healthcare service provision.
