The composition of the ambulance service workforce has undergone significant changes over the past decade, reflecting broader demographic and workforce trends. This study explores shifts in age distribution across operational ambulance personnel from 2014–15 to 2023–24, highlighting an increasing presence of younger professionals entering the field. These evolving workforce dynamics have implications for recruitment strategies, career development, and service delivery. Understanding these trends is crucial for workforce sustainability, ensuring a balanced mix of experience and new talent to meet the growing demands of prehospital emergency care. This analysis provides valuable insights into workforce planning and future-proofing ambulance services.
