Diana Zimmermann
Director Operational Triage Services at Ambulance Victoria (AV)
Diana Zimmermann is the Director Operational Triage Services at Ambulance Victoria (AV), leading statewide secondary triage, patient management and alternate care strategy. Diana has extensive strategic leadership experience across ambulance services, public sector health policy, clinical governance and system reform, supported by qualifications in Commerce, a Master of Public Health and deep experience in human-centred design. She has led the development of innovative models of care that improve patient outcomes and strengthen health system integration. Diana has played a key leadership role in initiatives including Video Assisted Triage, the multi-award winning initiative ‘TelePROMPT’, AV’s first co-designed approach to providing emergency mental health care and other collaborative models that connect patients to the most appropriate care pathway. She was recognised in the 2023 CAA Women in Ambulance Awards for her contributions and leadership at AV. Diana is passionate about driving patient-centred care, partnership-driven service design, and building sustainable, high-performing health systems.
