Rob Webb is the Chief Executive Officer of AFAC, Australia and New Zealand’s National Council for fire and emergency services.

Rob has enjoyed more than 30 years of working with emergency managers before, during and after disasters.

He is a former Deputy CEO at the Bureau of Meteorology, leading the Bureau’s national weather, flood and climate forecast and warning operations.

He became the CEO at AFAC in 2021. Through connection, collaboration, and innovation, AFAC supports its members to advance the safety and resilience of communities. AFAC’s deliverables include the National Aerial Firefighting Centre, the National Resource Sharing Centre, the Australian Institute of Disaster Resilience, and Australia and New Zealand’s largest emergency management conference.

A Queenslander at heart, he lived in Sydney for 20 years and for the last 10 years has called Melbourne home with his mostly patient wife and two young adult children.
