Portable stroke imaging improving equity of care and better patient outcomes

The Australian Stroke Alliance is turbocharging the transformation of prehospital stroke care.

The introduction of ultra-lightweight brain imaging devices will provide essential images of patients’ brains at the scene of the stroke.

Consultation via telehealth will support accurate diagnosis, ensure faster treatment and improved patient outcomes.

It’s about equity and bringing time-critical stroke treatment directly to every patient regardless of their postcode.

Ambulance and pre-hospital services have a key role in supporting this initiative and ensuring best care for patients with stroke.
